Silicon nitride (Si3N4) materials
Vickers hardness of 15-18 GPa, second only to diamond and silicon carbide, can effectively resist wear and scratches.
High strength:
The bending strength is as high as 800-1000 MPa, and the compressive strength is more than 2000 MPa, which can withstand high mechanical loads.
High elastic modulus:
The elastic modulus is about 300-320 GPa, which makes it very small deformation when stressed and suitable for high-precision equipment.
Low coefficient of thermal expansion (approximately 3.2×10⁻⁶/°C), high dimensional stability at temperature changes, reducing the risk of cracking due to thermal stress.
The thermal conductivity is about 20-30 W/m·K, which can quickly conduct heat and avoid local overheating.
Excellent thermal shock resistance:
Can withstand rapid rise and fall (such as from room temperature to 1000°C hot and cold), suitable for dramatic temperature changes in the environment.
Excellent corrosion resistance to most acid, alkali and salt solutions (except hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali solutions), suitable for chemical and metallurgical applications.
Oxidation resistance:
In a high temperature oxidizing atmosphere, the surface will form a dense oxide film (SiO₂), which further prevents internal oxidation.
